Remaining 2016 Farm Technology Days’ Funds Available For Grants

Walworth County UW-Extension would like to thank everyone who showed their support at this year’s Farm Technology Days. Over 30,000 people attended this agricultural trade show visiting with the over 600 vendors and taking tours of the state of the dairty farm as well as farm city elevator in Zenda. This trade show takes place in a different WI county every year. The Wisconsin Farm Technology Days show takes place in a different Wisconsin county every year. Every show is almost entirely organized by volunteers, from the planning committees to the admission gate attendants. While this was a large responsibility for the local community, it also means that proceeds from the event can be given back to Walworth county residents in the form of grants to support agriculture and youth leadership development. The purposes of these grants are to provide funding for the development of new programs, projects, or to enhance existing programs related to:

 Creating community and consumer awareness of the importance and impact of agriculture

 Developing innovative educational agriculture experiences or projects

 Youth programs encouraging healthy lifestyles and leadership development

Offering educational leadership skill building opportunities and support for youth, families, and adults in Walworth County. Only non-profit and public organizations that are based in Walworth County or benefit Walworth County residents are eligible to apply for grants.
